Macaron Workshop

I just wanted to post a few pictures from my Macaron workshop last night.

I took the class at Baking Arts and Richard the man who teaches the class was amazing.  The class was very relaxed and casual and he made you feel at home.

The pictures were taken with my point and shoot camera, so sorry about the quality.   I didn’t want to walk in the class with a huge SLR around my neck =)

The class started off with Richard making a batch of Macarons.  Unfortunately, I didn’t take pictures of him.  I was too enthralled in watching him make them.

Then it was out turn to make our own Macarons.  *biting my nails anxiously*

Almond Flour, Powdered Sugar, Gel Food Coloring and Extract

Mix it all together

Beating my Italian Meringue

Waiting for the meringue (you have to beat it for about 10 – 12 minutes).

The meringue carefully folded in and ready to pipe

My practice board for piping the meringue.

Checking to see if the first batch is done baking.

Note: If the wiggle when touched they are not done.

My baked cookies.  They have feet and no cracks! *happy dance*

My finished Macarons!  Filled with Chocolate Ganache and Salted Caramel

I haven’t posted the recipe on this post only because I will be making them again at home.  I need to buy my supplies (i.e. electronic food scale, thermometer and silpats).

Don’t worry I will post the recipe and step by step pictures when I do make them.
